I grew up on the most pristine island in the world; the nature isle of Dominica in the Caribbean. This allowed me to have the most admiration and dedication to understanding the science behind the natural environment. I wanted to become a an Environmental Scientist allowed me to develop and manage sustainable systems for current and future generations.

Tell us about the greatest challenge you had while you were in school.

The biggest hurtle was financially managing my school experience. As a result I was dedicated to working hard and was the recipients of many scholarships throughout my higher education experience.

What new idea is about to innovate Environmental Science?

Sustainability living is the next concept I believe will innovate my field. Our natural environment has been devastated and as a result has become toxic to our very own existence. Through research and development we will continue to learn the most in-depth intricate systems which allow us to co-exist with our natural environments while managing and conserving for future generations.

How do you give back to your community?

I give back to my home where I was born by adopting a local pre-school with school supplies and toys. Locally in NY we conduct Our Community Outreach Program has been established for over 5 years and works closely with individuals, groups and organizations in underserved communities on Long Island. The total number of individuals we have served is about 1500 and we continue to reach more individuals every day. Over the years we have worked with churches in the communities bringing nutritional seminars, healthy food options, mini fitness demonstrations with the support of the expertise of medical and health professionals to empower the community.

ge_logoOur Outreach Program has been patterned after our annual Women’s Wellness Conference with the main difference being we go to the communities who need the support and donate our time, expertise and products while collaborating with other health and community agencies. At the health events the residents are able to participate in education programs as well as physical activities. They are also able to communicate directly with the health professionals for immediate feedback.
